Dakotafish - 100 Days

Last time we heard from Dakotafish was in March when the L.A. trio released “Great Ones” for your listening pleasure. As one of the first bands I remember writing about in the early stages of this blog.. I’ve got a major soft spot for these guys. Luckily they happen to be great musicians so quality is never an issue.

I finally got around to giving Dakotafish’s latest effort a proper listen and boy is it great. Many Moons is all sorts of fantastic; it’s complied of tracks that can stand their own and compliment each other very well which is no easy feat. Right now “100 Days,” “We Are Like Gods,” and “Midnight Lemonade” are my favorites but I’m sure I’ll be rotating in a matter of minutes. I just want to know how they do it, really. How is it possible for so many well crafted pop/rock/somewhat-psych/funk jams to be in one place? A steady tempo throughout these ten tracks draws you in and keeps you listening. You should probably get your hands on Many Moons as soon as possible.. I promise it won’t disappoint.

Grab Dakotafish’s Many Moons here.

Dakota Fish - Many Moons

I know I’m a bit late on this one, starting new jobs, finding new routines, etc. But this album is too good, and too big not to post. These dudes have become some solid show buddies over the past year, and hearing about the process of making an album like this. The months (maybe years) of laboring that went into this album is evident through every track.

Click through to go listen and grab the whole eclectic album. I feel a summer anthem album going on.

Dakotafish, Midnight Lemonade (from the album “Many Moons”)

Well holy fuck is “Many Moons” a delightful album!  Like seriously this is one disc full of eargasms up the wazoo.  Midnight Lemonade is just fucking good.  Dakotafish will be loved by fans of Coconut Records, Givers and The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart.  And well everyone should just give “Many Moons” a chance because your ears will so thank you!  Seriously.  And you can hear and download the album (for whatever price you want) at Bandcamp NOW!

Dakotafish - We Were Like Gods

I first featured “Jitter” from Mike Fish’s Dakotafish project last summer, and I had a feeling there was much more to come. Yesterday, I got a note from him that he’d released his debut album Many Moons. I’m really impressed with the outcome of this album. Mike knows how to write a hit song. The album roller coasters from penetrating pop tunes to memorable deep cuts, with the consistent charm of a Phoenix record. For now you can pay what you want for the album on Bandcamp
