Dakotafish | Great Ones
Everything we’ve ever known turns out to be a little wrong.
A recent mix of mine for friends/family features this as the closing track, which is kind of how I imagine it - a steady build, composed, uplifiting harmonies, perfectly placed drum beats, all circling around to the same profound assertion that “great ones start young”. It’s an all-around good note to end on, and nothing short of an excellent track from these dudes.
LA’s Dakotafish are one of the bandcamp generation’s finest discoveries. According to their website, they’re ramping up for a full-length this June 21st. Great Ones is up for *FREE* download over at bandcamp, where you can also hear two of their previous 2010 tracks Jitter / Impossible Histories and their 2008 self-titled release. They’re also on twitter and tumblr so follow ‘em if you’re lookin’ to keep updated!
